THE COLLOSEUM REBORN
Their golden opportunity arrived with one of Julius II’s crowning achievements, the launch of old Rome. Designed and constructed as an exact replica of ancient Rome, complete with its own Forum Romanum and Colosseum, it was the exactly the low-tech nature and catacombs of the newest addition to Rome which made it the perfect target for Atlantean special forces.
Battle, Escape, and a Sweeping Triumph
In a special operation, guided by Heracles himself and using the power of Aquakinesis to create cover, an Atlantean Hussar team infiltrated old Rome and the catacombs of the Colosseum. Diana, working covertly, led Kane towards a secret exit, slipping past the unsuspecting Praetorian guard. Their very escape shocked Diana, who had previously only thought Aquakinesis a myth or storytale, yet saw the Atlantean Prince Heracles control water itself… Their seamless escape, a dangerous ballet of precision and bravery, underscored Diana's courage and Kane's strategic acumen.

Upon emerging from the labyrinthine passages, they were met with a chaotic scene as they were discovered by the Praetorian Guard. A furious firefight ensued, with Diana and Kane not in Orichalcum suits not able to fight with their swords… All seemed lost, until the arrival of Heracles, who led the Hussars to dramatically grab Kane, whilst ensuring that Diana was able to escape in the ensuing melee, her presence undiscoverable to anyone but Heracles and Kane. To say that the escape cut to the very heart of Rome is an understatement, with many calls for a war against the Atlantean Empire. However, Julius II was not one to rush into revenge, instead ignoring the calls, whilst working on the Leviathan Project…
Rome had to grapple with the aftermath of the daring rescue. Kane’s triumphant return to Atlantis sparked widespread celebration and relief. However, the tension between the two superpowers persisted, and if anything was elevated. The audacious rescue, the unlikely alliances, and the display of indomitable spirit had once again altered the global landscape. The threat of a third world war, seemed closer than ever…
Aftermath: Kane's Personal Struggle
Despite his triumphant return and the admiration he garnered, Kane found himself wrestling with the shadows of his past. The experience of the gladiatorial games, the raw savagery, and the inhumane brutality he had witnessed left indelible scars on his psyche. Even as he walked through the orderly streets of Atlantis, the echo of the Roman crowd, the clang of weapons, and the sight of blood-soaked sands haunted his dreams.
