A NEW FRONTIER

STEPPING INTO THE FUTURE

It is not difficult to ascertain where the name of ‘JC Boots’ arose given they give people the ability to walk on water, but nevertheless, their importance in the evolution of the world’s floating cities cannot be underestimated. Over three quarters of the world is ocean, and the ability to suddenly be able (albeit, potentially fighting sea sickness due to the rise and fall of the waves…) to walk on water revolutionised not just war, but also commerce and farming on the oceans.

22nd Century Wearables

Powered by a multitude of gyroscopes able to efficiently counteract the motions of the water and the weight of the user, JC Boots enabled people to literally walk on water and essentially make better use of the three quarters of the world which weren’t land. Whilst very useful for hydro farming and commerce, their main use, perhaps unsurprisingly, came in the many wars between the floating cities which raged in the oceanic battles. Mankind, in perhaps typical fashion, managed to turn the technology to war, with troops from floating cities no longer having to meet on land…

Over the decades since their creation, JC Boots have evolved and become smaller, to the point where modern sneakers will often contain the technology, and further, give them an edge so that people are able to run at higher speed on the water than land…
