ATLANTIS

“ATLANTIS - WHERE EVERY creation sang of my people's boundless ingenuity”

EMPEROR ATHOS OF ATLANTIS

A NEW DAWN: AN OCEANIC EMPIRE

Throughout Earth's history, many empires have risen and fallen, but none can rival the splendor and innovation of Atlantis, humanity's first floating city. Revolutionizing the course of our world, Atlantis embodies grandeur, elegance, and an unwavering desire to surpass its storied past. As it traverses the vast oceans that blanket three-quarters of our planet, Atlantis' beauty and ambition know no bounds.

"The shimmering light OF THE CAPITAL, where the impossible became an intimate embrace."

ELISE OF AUSTRALIS, EMPRESS OF ATLANTIS

HEART OF THE EMPIRE

ATLANTIS PRIME

THE CELESTIAL CITY: Atlantis Prime

At the heart of the Atlantean Empire lies Atlantis Prime, a city unparalleled in beauty and magnificence. Resembling ancient Atlantis, this floating marvel boasts a central island encircled by three rings, spanning over 120 miles and crisscrossed by thousands of canals, earning its moniker as the Venice of the Pacific. Dominating its heart is the Imperial Palace, home to the Atlantean Emperors and an ode to their vision.

Humble Origin:
From Dream to Reality

It is almost difficult to imagine that as the first floating city, Atlantis Prime was once little more than several dozen skyscrapers floating on the ocean surrounding a small temple to Poseidon. Since then, every Emperor has built upon the legacy of the last, with the largest expansions coming with each new ring, leading to it being covered by thousands of skyscrapers. Much to the chagrin of the Romans, the phrase ‘Atlantis wasn’t built in a day’ has come to replace the Roman equivalent.

Atlas XIV:
SHAPER OF ATLANTIS

Atlas the Great, the mastermind of Atlantis Prime's grandeur, merits much of the credit for transforming the city into the world's greatest metropolis. Expanding the city to an awe-inspiring 120 miles across, Atlas the Great paved the way for the Atlantean Empire, which now commands over a quarter of the world's oceans, to become the largest empire in history.

SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS

Today, Atlantis Prime is home to over 300 million people, its skyline punctuated by tens of thousands of skyscrapers that herald a new era of economic and financial prowess. As the capital of the world's foremost superpower, Atlantis Prime boasts unique districts, many of which mirror the beauty of Earth's most stunning cities, a testament to human ingenuity and a symbol of its grand aspirations.

THE IMPERIAL PALACE:
A LIVING MARVEL

At the center of Atlantis Prime lies the Imperial Palace, the main home of the Imperial Family. Stretching over a mile into the air, it is commonly called the ‘Living Palace’ due to its ability to change form with the movements of the sun and the seasons. Dependent on weather and time, the Imperial Palace moves and transforms its shape to best maximize the comfort and views of its inhabitants.

Whilst officially denied, there is no doubt that the changing of the palace is likewise a security measure, making it near impossible to plan an attack on any particular part of the palace, due to its ever-changing state. Regardless of this, standing as the tallest building in the world, it dominates central Atlantis Prime. Taking generations to build, many would consider it one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.

AN ELEGANT INTERIOR

The Imperial Palace epitomizes futuristic elegance, its sleek, minimalist lines and abundance of glass and steel creating an awe-inspiring sight. Its open floor plan offers breathtaking views of the surrounding city, while state-of-the-art amenities cater to the Emperor's every whim. It is a true symbol of Atlantis Prime's power and technological mastery.

A VERDANT OASIS: THE PALACE GARDENS

Spanning over 10 miles, the lush indoor and outdoor gardens of the Imperial Palace offer a serene sanctuary for the Emperor and his family, nestled within the heart of the city.

THE GARDENS OF LIGHT

There is no doubt that prior to the earlier 21st century, many nations had tried to grow crops and plants by or in the ocean, but the sea and its salt content were not conducive to non-aquatic life. This was no different for early Atlantis, and after years of relying on imports, Atlas XII proposed a somewhat unorthodox solution, after a decade of testing, of adding microscopic amounts of Orichalcum into the soil…

The results were remarkable, with Atlantis within two years becoming completely self-sufficient for food. One hundred years on, no negative side effects have been found from those eating the results of Orichalcum enhanced soil. There was, however, a side effect from the microscopic amounts of Orichalcum added to some of the plant life of Atlantis… Bioluminescence…

Whilst not affecting the most common crops eaten by people, it seemed to have a particular affect on tropical plants and flowers, and in all frankness, seeing the potential profits to be made, many florists tended to focus on bioluminescence as a strain of plant worth exploiting. As such, Atlantis has become the empire of light at night.

PALACES WITHIN A PALACE:
THE PALACES OF ATLAS XIV

There is little doubt that despite being Atlantean, Atlas the XIV was a fan of his number sake, King Louis XIV of France. As such, he cultivated a love of palaces and architecture and is responsible for the build of most of the royal palaces within Atlantis. Often surrounded by lush luminescent gardens, Atlas the Great built some hundred or so palaces from Atlantis Prime to New Delphi.

With many being built in a renaissance style and inspired by Versailles and the many palaces in the Loire Valley, there is no doubt a strange disconnect finding these architectural marvels in the middle of the ocean, although often also surrounded by extensive gardens. Future Emperors continued Atlas the XIV’s legacy of building palaces, although in a somewhat more futuristic style. Modern palaces often are built more to reflect to their environment, although there is no denying that petal designs play a large part in current Atlantean architecture.

THE EMPEROR’S RETREAT:
A HAVEN AMONGST THE WAVES

Nestled on the serene island of Ancora in the South Pacific, Athos, the Emperor of Atlantis, finds respite in his exquisite Marble Palace. Its graceful arches and curving lines mirror the ocean's embrace, while a canopy of conifer trees crowns the palace's roof, a testament to nature's splendor.

Eternal Radiance: Atlantis' Unyielding Embrace of Light

As Atlantis reaches new heights under the stewardship of Athos and Elise, it has become an empire perpetually basking in the glow of its own brilliance. While the sun may have never set on the British Empire, Atlantis thrives in the warmth of an eternal, radiant embrace, whether in the north or south.

A New Triumvirate: Atlantis, United States, and Rome

In an age of great powers, Atlantis, the United States, and Rome form a mighty triumvirate, each vying for authority and influence as they carve their own distinct paths. Yet, Atlantis stands apart, its legacy secured by a direct descendant of Poseidon, poised to inherit an unparalleled empire.
